Young Physician Career Advancement Program (YPCAP)

Young Physician Career Advancement Program (YPCAP) is an innovative idea assisting medical students and physicians in obtaining specialized medical training and in post-training job placement in North America since 2012.

Every year, hundreds of physicians in career track participates in seminars and workshops focusing on residency training and alternate career path. The program had helped many physicians in obtaining specialized training in USA and has been greatly appreciated by members nationwide. We are extremely happy to inform that this year alone, a total of 29 Bangladeshi descent physicians were accepted in ACGME residency training program.

Community Health Outreach Program (CHOP)

In 2017, New York Chapter executive committee proposed its unique social and education project – Community Health Outreach Program (CHOP). This project aims to deliver health care to minority, underinsured and indigent population, encourage Health Awareness through education leading to a healthy life style in the Community settings.

The program will address evolving needs of the community focusing on:

  • Care of Children and Pregnant Women, Universal Childhood Immunization, Screening for Hypertension, Diabetes, Hyper-lipidemia, Smoking cessation, Travel Medicine, Blood Donation, Infection Control, Lead and Arsenic prevention, Adults immunization including Hepatitis and HPV screening, Depression and Dementia screening, Pain management and PSA and cancer screening.

  • CHOP will initially be based in New York City operating in all five boroughs led by BMANA Member Physician group with support from state, local and private authorities. The project could later be expanded to other parts of New York and New Jersey if adequate resource and logistics are secured.

2013

Direct distribution of Relief materials following catastrophic cold wave in northern region of Bangladesh Humanitarian aid to victims of Rana Plaza building collapse in Savar, Dhaka

2017

Huge fund raising and direct distribution of relief materials following devastating Flood affecting 31 districts in Bangladesh in August 2017. With member’s contribution, New York Chapter directly distributed cash, food and clothes valued more than $35,000 to flood victims in northern districts of Bangladesh without any overhead expenses. Helped to purchase Ambulance for Rohingya refugees.

Major Relief operation following Cyclone Sidr including construction of a hurricane shelter in Bangladesh
